Claim
India announces a plan to expand Bihar by annexing parts of Nepal including Narayani, Ktm and Bhojpur.
Fact
Viral video is shared with a misleading text laid on it.
A video allegedly showing Industries Minister of India’s Bihar state Dilip Kumar Jaiswal announcing India’s plan to form a larger Bihar by annexing territories including Narayani, Ktm and Bhojpur is going viral on Tiktok.
TikTok user @rk.rk312 posted a video showing Bihar’s Industries Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal speaking at an assembly. In his Hindi speech, Minister Jaiswal says, “From Pashupatinath to Baidhyanath. From Nepal’s border, which is Balmiknagar, we are building a four-lane road up to Pashupatinath. The road will be 250-km long. Honourable members and chairman I cannot explain the happiness you will feel when the road is built. After that Narayani-Ganga high-speech green-field corridor will be 225-km. The proposed corridor will ensure connectivity from Bagaha (NH-727A) to Patar in Bhojpur district.”
Text superimposed on the video reads, “India is set to form a larger Bihar by annexing Narayani, Ktm (Kathmandu) and Bhojpur.”

The video posted on February 18 has garnered 12.1k likes, 1353 users have liked it and 206 people have commented until the last count.

Newschecker found the claim to be misleading.
To check the veracity of the claim, Newschecker took a key-frame from the viral video and ran reverse search on it. The reverse search led us to a video, dated February 12, 2026, posted on X (formerly twitter) by a handle named ‘Bihar Infra Tales’. Text accompanying the video reads, “Government is planning two high-speed corridors: Pashupatinath-Baidyanath Corridor (approx 250km); Narayani Ganga Corridor (approx. 225km).”
We found that the video exactly matched the viral video. The X post clearly indicated that the video showed Bihar Minister Jaiswal announcing the plans to build two expressways including the one connecting Pashupatinath in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu to Baidyanath in Jharkhand state of India.
However, we didn’t find any indication or plan to expand Bihar state.
We searched for news reports regarding Baidhyanath-Pashupatinath corridor by using relevant keywords and found a news article, dated February 16, 2026, posted on Kathmandu Post online.
On checking the article, we found that the Bihar government has proposed a new high-speed expressway connecting Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu with Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar and has forwarded the proposal to the central government for approval. We also found another article posted on New Business Age online regarding the Bihar government’s plan to construct a 250-kilometre expressway connecting Pashupatinath with Baidyanath.
However, we did not find any credible reports regarding Bihar government’s plan to expand Bihar including Nepal’s territory.
The video caption has mislead the people as Nepal also has a Bhojpur district and Nepal’s Narayani zone borders India’s Bihar state.
Thus, the video is misleading.
No, the Bihar government has not announced any plan to expand its territory by including Narayani, Ktm and Bhojpur. The viral video actually shows Bihar Minister for Industries Jaiswal announcing the plan to build an expressway connecting Nepal’s Pashupatinath and Jharkhand’s Baidyanath Dhamj. The video is shared with a misleading caption.
