Claim
Captain Vijaya Lama taught a lesson to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and his loyalists through a TikTok video.
Fact
No, viral video actually shows Lama expressing sadness over the May 31 scuffle in the parliament. Viral video is clipped.
A video allegedly showing Senior Nepal Airlines Captain Vijaya Lama teaching a lesson to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and his loyalists is going viral on TikTok.
TikTok user @su_rain20 posted a video showing Nepal Airlines Vijaya Lama speaking in a Nepal Airlines uniform. In the video Lama is heard saying, “You guys are defending your actions instead of admitting that you are setting a bad example. Yes, to err is human, but why do you have to defend? People (we the Nepali citizens) would feel that you have remorse for your wrong doings and give you a chance only if you admit your mistakes. But you are still denying it. How long will you deny, where do you want to take the country please think? “
The video also carries photos of Prime Minister Balendra Shah and India’s SSBN . Text superimposed on the video reads, “Vijaya Lama teaching a lesson to Prime Minister Balen and his loyalists.” The video also carries a small photo of India’s border security force with text on it reading, “India is bullying at Nepali territory in Susta after Balen’s statement on Nepal-India border.”

The video posted on June 3 has garnered 61.1k likes, 3332 users have shared it and 1904 people have commented until the last count.
While speaking in the Parliament on May 31, Prime Minister Balendra had said it is not only that India has encroached on Nepali territories, but Nepal has also encroached on Indian territories.
Newschecker found the claim to be misleading.
To check the veracity of the claim, Newschecker searched the social media pages of Captain Lama and came across his TikTok account.
We then checked Lama’s TikTok account and came across a video, dated June 2, 2026, and found that the video from 50-second to 1:22-second exactly matched the viral clip. On checking the five-minute long video, we found Lama was actually criticising the lawmakers involved in fighting in the parliament. In the video, Lama clearly states that I am not taking sides but the fight in the parliament will do no good for the country.

We also checked the previous video posted on Lama’s TikTok account, and found that Lama was expressing sadness over the recent fight in the parliament.
On May 31, 2026, the meeting of the House of Representatives turned into a virtual battle ground when Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal pushed through the passage of the controversial House of Representatives Regulations, 2026. Opposition lawmakers blockaded the rostrum, fiercely protesting a rule requiring lawmaker suspension only after a three-year criminal sentence.
Thus, our findings clearly shows that Captain Lama was not pin-pointing Prime Minister Balendra Shah and his loyalists in the viral clip. He was actually referring to the fierce protest in the parliament.
No, Nepal Airlines Captain Vijaya Lama did not teach a lesson to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and his loyalists. The viral video is clipped.
