No, the viral claim is false.
A video claiming that Prime Minister Sushila Karki sacked Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal is going viral on TikTok.
TikTok user @namastemission2082 posted a video carrying a photo of Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal. Text superimposed on the video reads, “Prime Minister [Sushila Karki] has sacked Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal.” Audio accompanying the video says, “The most difficult thing in life is to recognize the people. The nature and relationships between people are never constant.”

The video posted on October 29 has garnered 2333 likes, 37 users have shared it and 287 people have commented until the last count. The archived version of the TikTok can be seen here.

Newschecker found the claim to be false.
To check the veracity of the claim, Newschecker searched for news about the alleged sacking of Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal by using several relevant keywords. However, the search didn’t yield any relevant result.
We then looked up the website of Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs but did not find any updates regarding the sacking of the Home Minister.
On checking further, we found an article, dated October 30, published on Rising Nepal online. The article noted that Prime Minister Sushila Karki said that her attention has been drawn to the reports claiming that Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has been exerting pressure on the Prime Minister to remove Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal from his position.
“It is widely known that Home Minister Aryal, who assumed office amid an unusual political atmosphere, has been working diligently to create an environment conducive to the upcoming election (slated for March 5, 2026),” the article quoted a press statement issued by PM Karki’s chief aide Adarsha Kumar Shrestha.
Further, we found an article, dated October 31, 2025, posted Nepal News online. The article reported that Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has instructed coordination for enhanced security, citing growing concerns in the private sector following the protests of September 8 and 9. The news article noted that Minister Aryal issued a circular to Chief District Officers (CDOs) of all 77 districts with the directive. We found another article regarding the Home Minister’s directive posted on Khabarhub online.
Moreover, the news of Home Minister Aryal’s sacking obviously would have made big headlines. Thus, our findings clearly show that Prime Minister Karki has not sacked Home Minister Aryal.
No, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has not been sacked by Prime Minister Sushila Karki. The viral video is false.
