A video allegedly showing Bollywood actor, producer and director Ajay Devgn praising the Nepali blockbuster movie ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ is going viral on TikTok.
The video goes viral at a time when Nepali movie ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ is faring well at the box office with a historic record for ticket sales.
Against this backdrop TikTok user @maganu.tharu posted a video showing Ajay Devgn talking in a podcast along with another person. Text superimposed on the video reads, “Bollywood action star Ajay Devgn unreservedly praised Nepali film Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi.” In the clip in Hindi, Devgn says, “Whenever he carries, he carries on his shoulder and thinks that I can see up to a certain place and my son will see further than that.” And the host Ranveer responds by saying, “Wow!” A flyer of Nepali movie ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’ is also attached with the clip.
The video posted on November 14 has garnered 8393 likes, 167 users have shared it and 56 people have commented until the time of publishing this article. The archived version of the TikTok video can be seen here.
Newschecker found the claim to be misleading.
Fact Check /Verification
To check the veracity of the claim, Newschecker took a key frame from the viral video and ran a reverse search on Google. The search led us to a video, dated November 14, 2024, posted on the YouTube channel named Time Pass.
On checking the video, we found that the video from 32.25-minute onwards exactly matched the viral clip. The video actually showed Ajay Devgan talking about father’s love and wishes for their children.
Further, we looked at the YouTube channel of Ranveer Allahbadia and found a video, dated November 9, 2024, of the post cast with Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty. On checking the video, we found that the video from 33.51-minute onwards exactly matched the viral clip.
We also found an article, dated November 14, 2024, published on India time about the video featuring Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty from their recent podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia that has taken the internet by storm.
Thus, our findings clearly showed Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty talking about their teenage years and success.
Conclusion
